Indian Pass:

Truly The Hidden Jewel of Gulf County

Truly The Hidden Jewel of Gulf County - Nestled among the wandering marsh, native palm trees, and the waters of The Gulf of Mexico, Apalachicola Bay, and Indian Lagoon, lies the quaint peninsula of Indian Pass. “The Pass”, as the locals call it, is drenched in lush vegetation, unique wildlife, and some of the friendliest folks around. Whether your fancy is a laid back, walk your dog on the beach kind of style, a more adventurous kayak minded, or the true sport fishing type – The Pass is appropriately equipped for all these outdoor activities and so much more! Enjoy surf fishing from the beach, sunning on the open white sands, or launch your boat for a day on the water – you can take your pick of 3 waterways here, depending on the size of your boat that is!

One of the main attractions is St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge – A 12,490 acre (382 of those are sand dunes!) barrier island over flowing with some of Mother Nature’s Finest. From tidal marshes, freshwater lakes, miles of uninhabited dune and sea oat lined beaches, and numerous varieties of abundant wildlife! Bring your camera, binoculars and just pay attention – you just may miss that bald eagle flying overhead with the fresh catch of the day!

The Pass is a True Recreational Paradise – even if you choose to take is slow and easy, the pelicans will understand.

The fishing is next to none here! With bay, lagoon, inshore, offshore, and on the shore options – the choice is just what size pole am I going to need!

One of the best dive sites in the State of Florida – The Empire Mica - is just 23 miles due south!

Beach Driving is allowed with a permit, so it is not unusual to see truck loads of family and friends fishing, crabbing, and sunning, while gathering driftwood for an after dark bonfire. Roasting marshmallows and chasing ghost crabs are usually the highlight of the night! If you’re lucky enough to catch the World Famous Indian Pass Raw Bar – during “normal business hours” – understand that those are “The Pass” hours – so you better call ahead before driving too far – they do have a local telephone! If they’re open you can have your choice of succulent lagoon oysters on the half shell, steamed or baked – crab legs, shrimp, or gumbo, with your choice of cold drink served yourself!
